CARIA. Tabai. 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 3.30 g, 11 h), Seleukos, son of Brakhyllidas, magistrate. TABHNΩN Draped bust of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. CΕΛΕΥΚΟC - ΒΡΑΧΥΛΛΙ/ΔΟΥ Poseidon standing right, resting his right foot on a prow and holding trident in his right hand; to lower left, dolphin downward. HNO 1162. SNG Copenhagen 532. Rare. Light porosity, otherwise, good fine.

The name of this magistate, Seleukos, is a memento of the long gone Seleukid domination of Asia Minor in the 3rd and early 2nd century BC.
